Three Fires Solutions
Three Fires Solutions (TFS) is a progressive management and financial services firm based in Wikwemikong. Established in 1997, TFS provides specialized services for a diverse group of First Nation clientele. The principle of the organization, Walter Manitowabi, is a Certified Management Accountant and brings over 25 years of financial, management, and political experience to his clients.
Walter Manitowabi, CMA, was born and raised on the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve in Ontario. Mr. Manitowabi’s background includes direct experience and expertise in such areas as business development and advisory services, financial services, First Nation Administration financial management and training. This experience and expertise allows Mr. Manitowabi to professionally assist a diverse group of clientele with an unlimited variety of management contracts.
The following is a profile of the direct experience and educational background of the principle of the organization:
- Two years as Chief of the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve, one of Canada’s largest and most progressive First Nation communities.
- Five years as Chief Operating Officer of the Union of Ontario Indians, serving the 39 First Nation communities of the Anishinabek Nation.
- Over ten years experience in the operation and management of a large retail operation on the Wikwemikong First Nation.
- Two and 1/2 years experience working with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and their Section 95 On-Reserve Housing Program.
- Over two years experience delivering the Aboriginal Business Development Program of Industry Canada (CAEDS).
- Two years experience as Director of Operations / Band Manager of the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve.
- Attained a Certified Management Accountant Designation from the University of Manitoba and the Society of Management Accountants of Manitoba.
- Received a post-secondary diploma in Business Management – Accounting from Canadore College in North Bay, Ontario.
